Just got my new build, installed vista and the drivers but for some reason i just cant get my Monitor (24inch 1920x1080) to fill out.
I have a black border right around it where i can not access with a mouse. Just like a letter box mode.

Why cant i fill out the entire screan?!:(

Installed the latest driver from the nvidia site.

Evga 285gtx
Asus VW246H

Edit: It fills it out in 1680x1050 resolution but thats not native.

What goes on here

Any more help would be great to come back to tomorrow though.

my xerox xa7 19i was funny for ages with vista (would only do 1024x768) until nvidia fixed their driver, something to do with the something (very vague :p ), someone else will know

ESID or something

I sometimes get a similar problem. Try setting a refresh rate one value above the one its set to at the moment. It should refresh and be good to go.

I do this when I activate my HDTV as my second monitor (running from HDMI on my graphics card) as sometimes it doesn't fill the screen, but yeah, setting the refresh rate 1 point +/- fixes it.

Add a custom resolution in the nVidia manager. Or, I can swap you my 19" and see if that solves the problem. ;)

Edit: Just noticed you're based in Australia.. the shipping would be out of this world, or take weeks :p

Foudn the problem tucked away in the nvidia control panel.

It was so kindly resizing my screan from default

Back to how it should be now
