Ok this is annoying me... I have a friend who has a Packard Bell iXtreme i6523. Last night while it was doing a critical update the PC crashed, and is unable to boot. It gets past the login screen, but then she's stuck on a black screen. She left it for an hour or so just in case it was being slow. She tried going through system restore via Windows recovery but that failed on all 4 points it found (some error comes up saying it can;t go back to the previous point). She then tried Packard Bell's factory reset but that failed too (Saying it failed to install Windows)!

So I'm going to get her to download a Windows ISO, and do a clean fresh install. Problem is, I can't find the drivers for it. The Packard Bell site is confusing, and my friend doesn't even know the specs of the PC well. All she knows is that it has an i5. Googling the iXtreme i6523 gives nothing as well. Can anyone help me find the drivers for this? OS is Win 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

Chances are Windows update will find the missing drivers after a reinstall, however I would be more concerned that the factory restore fails. Could suggest a faulty HDD.

Hmm ok thanks, I'm just hoping the default Windows drivers will allow it to connect it to the internet for it to find the drivers...

If it's a faulty HDD then she'll need to buy a new PC . I'm hoping this is not the case, she's only an average user and I can't really help her either since I'm miles away.
