Is this likely to cause an issue when I come to sell the car on?

I'm hoping it will turn up, you never know, but worse case - is it likely to matter on a car that will be 8+ years old?

How valuable is a service history on cars this age? I have serviced it yearly during my ownership thus far at least.

Possible to visit the dealer and get a duplicate service book made up?

Mine went missing, luckily the same dealer looked after the car from new so was easy to get a duplicate.

I have receipts for the last few. Car is a '07 Clio.

The book is here somewhere, just gotta find it then I guess. Reason I'm asking is because my car was serviced yesterday and I couldn't find the book. They said that I can just get it stamped next year or whenever I'm in the area (f I find the book) as it'll be on their system and I have the receipt.

Pretty annoying that I've misplaced it though..

It would certainly knock money off or make the car harder to sell. Even at the point of buying a £2k Clio I'd be looking for something with a decent service history. Too many Clio's about to worry about buying one where somebody has 'lost the service book' (not saying you have done this, but it's the typical excuse).

Yes it devalues the car when selling. I would always favour a car with full service history over one that has no evidence of such. But I also look for other evidence of good maintenance and not just a tick in the box from the dealer.

In the case of a very common car I would just walk away and buy someone elses that doesn't have a lost history.

Its an 8 year old car city, most sensible people, assumung the car isnt priced at the top level, will buy based on condition.

Bigger cars, yes i'd agree people do want evidence of SH.
