Cant forward or rewind a video clip....

I have a video clip that plays fine but for some reason, I cant skip forward or back, or even speed it up??

Anyone know why this is and if it can be fixed??

prob not got the beginning and end information within the file, so the computer has no idea how long it is, will play, but carnt fast fwd etc

quite possibly an asf format file sometimes a pain coult try converting to a defferent format
