Hi,

Trying to set up a 2 screen desktop, one being a normal monitor, and the other a HD TV.

When I try to configure the TV through ATI, the highest resolution I can get is 1600 x 900.

What am I doing wrong? lol. Does something need changing?

Thanks.

PS: my graphics card is an MSI 6870.

Use HDMI.

It's a Samsung UE32C5800, and yeah, it's connected to the graphics card.

I would use HDMI, but the other screen, which is a proper monitor is using it.

Some hdtvs only include 720p vga because most people don't use it.

My really old Toshiba only does 720p vga or 1080p hdmi and my newer tv's have no vga what so ever.

I had a similar thing where a monitor wouldn't hit full resolution. Turned out to be a dodgy VGA cable. Swapped it and got the resolution.

Best case though is to use the DVI and HDMI outputs.
