Hi Guys , Moving from Vista to XP for some aplications and i cant get 1680x1050! I can get close but the quality is horrible !

Monitor: Packard Bell 22" (No drivers on the website or anywhere)

8800GTS 640Mb Graphics Card

Any ideas Guys? Lastest Nvidia Drivers...

Thanks Guys

Jay!

Are you trying to set the resolution through Windows or the Nvidia Control Panel? If you've only tried one, then try the other.

Have you tried using plug and play drivers for your monitor? Failing that, I would try drivers for similar 22" monitors as that may force the graphics card to allow more resolution options.

Sounds to me like your graphics card doesn't think your monitor can handle any resolution higher than 1600x1200 and this can only be down to lack of or missing drivers for your monitor.

Theres no driver for my monitor. Windows picks it up as Plug and Play.

Any drivers you know of will fix this ? I Can go in 1680x1050 but the picture quality is terrible

sounds really unlikely but have you tried reinstalling the graphics card drivers since you've had the new monitor set up ? or trying slightly different variations of the drivers?

I have the newest driver for my graphics card . There is no drivers for my monitor (thanks to packard bell)

Shall i try Older drivers?

Jay!

Is your monitor a normal 4:3 or a wide 16:9, if it's a normal 4:3 then this may explain why you can't get 1680x1050 to display properly because i think 1680x1050 is wide 16:9, but, 1600x1200 is normal 4:3, the only thing i can think of is to try different refresh rates to see if it makes any difference.

Why don't you phone Packard Bell tech support?

And maybe check the monitors OSD to make sure it's not doing any scaling.

There nothing in the monitor settings. Packard Bell havent got any drivers on the website which is what i need. Model is : http://www.packardbell.co.uk/produc...es/maestro-22/productsheet-6980230100-68.html

Vista picks the screen up as default. And sets it to the correct driver and the screen quality is excellent...

Thanks Guys Once Again!

Jay!
