So it seems nigh on impossible to get 5.1 from my surface Dock via display port to hdmi to my av receiver.
I can get usbc to hdmi 5.1 but this is an annoyance as its from the surface book itself.
Another option I have is USB to reciever via many methods.
This is for dts, pcm etc.
What hardware to I need for this?
I have never used anything other than hdmi.
Can I use hdmi for picture and another solution for sound at same time from the av reciever?
