Can't get 5.1 on vista!

Hey guys,
I installed Vista and almost all is well...
I installed the AC97 vista beta sound drivers from the realtek site. I have the icon in the bottom etc. but when I click the icon, it says they arent vista drivers, and I only have two options, speaker config and general. I have Medusa 5.1's, so I want my surround sound, but when I change the speaker config to 4 or 6, it always reverts back to 2CH. How do I change this, because I love Vista, and I dont want to lose it over not having 5.1

well i think it's a problem with your beta drivers and not vista itself. i'm using beta audigy drivers and have the option for 5.1 sound in my options......

I went to the same control panel that you show in your ss(I never knew about it before) and I set it to 5.1 through there! Thank you very much.
