Can't get 60Hz on a Phillips 40" 4K with new NVidia drivers

Hi all,

I am currently running on GTX670 and Philips BDM4065UC 40" 4K monitor. Windows 10 64bit. My drivers are 353.30 which is pretty old. The cable I use is Display Port and I've set up my monitor OSD to DisplayPort 1.2. Everything runs fine at 60Hz.

For a while I've been trying to update my drivers, I always get the certified ones but every time I install them my video connection get downgraded from 60Hz to 30Hz during the instalation. I then restart the PC and when I go to my monitor settings I no longer see 60Hz listed as an option. I only see 30Hz and 29Hz. The same happens when I go to NVidia Control Panel.

I've tried 6-7 times for the past 1 year and every time the same.
I normally wouldn't care but since some of the drivers offer improved performance in various games I wanted to give it a go.

Any tips?

Thank you.

Sorry guys, I thought the thread was dead :)

1. The monitor is absolutely set to DP 1.2 in the OSD
2. I don't have any other DP cable but then again the current one works fine at 60Hz, just with the old drivers, not the new ones.

As for the other suggestions- I will try them this weekend, even though last time I tried my sound got messed up and Windows started using the monitor speakers instead of the other ones.
I will be upgrading my graphics card soon anyway. Maybe that will fix the problem.

Thanks for your help and will post again soon.

Hey guys,
sorry, I thought the thread was dead...
Thank you for the input. Unfortunately under PC section in NVidia Control Panel there was no 3840x2160 at all.
I also downloaded the .inf from Philips's website, installed it but that did not help with getting 3840x2160 at 60Hz.
What I did manage to do was to set a custom resolution of 3840x2160 at 51Hz. It's not butter smooth, I can feel a certain lag in the mouse movement but it's better than 30Hz :)

Cheers.
