Can't get Belkin router to Connect to Line

I'm currently using an Internal PCI ADSL modem. This works with my provider (Firefly) like a dream. However, my dad and nephew have just bought laptops and they want to share my internet connection. So I bought a Belkin Wireless router, which naturally connects to my pc using ethernet cable. In the router software, the pc finds the router just fine, but then it asks for ISP details (username: [email protected]; password: *******; VPI: 0; VCI: 38; Encapsulation: VCMUX; Connection type: PPPoA; and finally the service provider name.) I got those settings from the control panel of my adsl modem. I wasn't sure if the service name had to be exact or not so just put Firefly.

Anyway, it says it can't connect to the provider. I then disconnect the ADSL cable from the router, slap it back in the ADSL modem and BINGO, it's connected. Tried the router again and again and no joy.

Please help.

Is it synching up at all, failing authentication or what?
Is there any sort of log or error message or anything - "it doesn't connect" isn't exactly meaningful.

A bar goes along saying it's connecting to the internet, then after that it says "We couldn't connect to your ISP using the settings you've given. Please check and try again."

No idea about synching or logs.

It should have a DSL light or whatever, and if there's a log it'll be in the web interface. The manual should have some clues too.
