Have managed to overclock my Q6600 to 3.4Ghz, by just changing the FSB, increasing the voltage and changing the DRAM speed to 1:1, and have run Prime95 for just over 8 hours with success at 1.4150 volts. I have tried today to lower the CPU voltage to 1.4050, but after about an hour or so i noticed i got the blue screen. I am under the impression that i should be able to lower my voltages more than the 1.4150 im at at the moment. Any suggestions??

those volts seem about right to me for that overlcock.

sounds like your not doing the overclock in the right way. You're supposed to increase the FSB for each given voltage you use, not pick a FSB and work your way down in volts!

Well was suggested that the Q6600 would do 3.2 easly, so thats what i started on and worked my way to 3.4. So you think i should select a voltage lower than 1.4150 and see what FSB i can get up to?? But this wont allow me to get lower than 1.4150 volts @ 3.4Ghz, will it? So theres no other bios options i can tweak to get lower volts

thats a fairly low Vcore, if your temperatures are ok underload, i'd suggest you leave it as it is, as the blue screening might be a sign of instability.

Blue screen is a definite sign of instability somewhere, keep going up the volts a little bit until it's 100% stable, that'll be the minimum amount of voltage you'll need.

Yeah, had prime95 running for just over 8 hours, at 3.4GHz, Ram voltage at 2.1, Vcore at 1.4150 without any errors, but these are the only options i changed plus the FSB.So im guessing at 3.4Ghz 1.4150 is the lowest i can get?? Is there any other options i should have manual changed in the BIOS???

If everything is running at it's rated speeds (RAM) and you've just overclocked the CPU then it seems as if you've got a good clock there. 1.41 is not something to turn your nose down at for a 3.4Ghz clock.

Ah ok cool, temps seem good to under load 59,59,52,52. You say if everything is running at its rated speed, my ram is slightly underclocked, 750 odd something cant remember of the top of my head. I had to set the Dram timing to 1:1 as otherwise the ram was getting overclocked if i wanted to achieve 3.4 Ghz at x9.0 mulitplier. So how do i sort the ram??
