The set up:-

Sata Hard Disc Drive

IDE DVD Drive

EVGA 680i Mobo

So, i have the sata hard disk plugged in with the sata cable.
I have the dvd drive plugged in with the IDE Cabel
They are both detected in the bios screen.

but when i "press F1 to continue" and I put in the windows Vista CD i get the following.

PXE-E61: Nedia Test Failed: Check Cable
PXE-M0F: Existing Nvidia Boot Agent

I've tried swapping the DVD drive from master to slave, ive removed and reinserted the IDE cable just incase of a loose connection, but it still gives the error.

Is there something im doing wrong?
What needs to be done to coreect the problem ?

edit:... I do not yet have windows installed on the hard disk, because of this problem.

I did what you said and it elped a bit, i didnt get the errors, but it just flashed "boot from CD" and it wouldnt advance any further.

so i tried inserting my XP disc from m old PC , and it worked, it loaded the disc fine.

this leads me to believe my vista disc is broke, it did arive to me with the case damaged and the disc not in the middle spindle with some scratches on it.

Do overclockers allow you to return faulty software?

when i recieved it it came in a giant carboard box with all the rest of my PC components (the CPU , fans etc etc) so there was no way to know at the time if it was faulty.
