Hi all,
Ive got a dell 1440p motnitor connected to my PC as primary display via DP,
Ive just bought an lg 4k TV which ive hooked up by hdmi.

I can share the screen over wifi to the tv, but its only 30 hz.
I can't get a picture on the TV in windows, but if i reboot I get the BIOS slpash screen on both displays, but once in windows, the the TV says no signal, and windows cant seem to detect the LG TV aas a second monitor.

Any ideas?

Thanks

OK ive managed to get both displays working in windows at 1440p, but they wont extend, only duplicate.

And if I click detect displays in windows is says 'cannot detect another display' even though both screens are dislaying lol... gah, WTF?

It's now working fine, the dell monitor at 1440p @165hz, and the LG as an extended display at 4k 120 hz.

Good greif, lol...ive no Idea why it suddenly started working.

I can't enable 'play hdr games and app' in windows display settings though, both screens are HDR - does that matter if i enable HDR in games to override it?

Correction, the graphics card is 2.0b for what its worth.

Also ive just realised, I reinstalled windows today, done the graphics drivers but theres a shed load of windows updates comming down, so hopefully thres something in there that will stabalise it...we shall see...

I just checked and hdmi 2.0b only supports 4k@60hz and I seemed to get it running at 4k@120hz as thats the TVs max, but I wonder if that was causing an issue too, even though the TV and cable is hdmi 2.1.

It's really weird, I can get it to work from a 'cold boot' I'm guessing its a windows driver issue... then windows10 refuses to recognise TV.

You need to stick to 4k60 with your gpu. Both source and display will need to be hdmi 2.1 for 4k120.

my GPU output is hdmi 2.0b... I wonder if that is the problem.

EDIT, but im happy to have 1440p or 4k @60hz on the telly, I don't really care, I'm just trying to make the telly work.
