As Title my 560 ran out this a.m.

18:53:40] - Connecting to assignment server
[18:53:40] Connecting to http://assign-GPU.stanford.edu:8080/
[18:53:41] - Couldn't send HTTP request to server
[18:53:41] + Could not connect to Assignment Server
[18:53:41] Connecting to http://assign-GPU.stanford.edu:80/
[18:53:42] - Couldn't send HTTP request to server
[18:53:42] + Could not connect to Assignment Server 2
[18:53:42] + Couldn't get work instructions.
[18:53:42] - Attempt #6 to get work failed, and no other work to do.

Upgraded AV to ESET Smart Security 5 last night. Even if I disable firewall I don't get work, so I don't think that is the problem.
PC BSOD @ 99% sent results ok. Could that be the problem corrupt client?

Anyone else getting work ok? I see some Standford severs are down.

Thanks Biffa.
It is the new version of ESET Smart Security 5 that is the problem. Only by totally deactivating can I get FAK to connect have revert to v 4

i had this problem and what i did was exclude the folding@home dir and also tick the folding stuff for excludes

web + email - W A P - http, https - active mode and then tick the folding stuffs and that has allowed me to download the Work Units :) whether it completes them is another story but i might keep the main rig running all night and test this out :)

Thanks for the reply & help. Maybe I'm thick but I could find all those setting:( Did put F@H in exclusions but to no effect.

After a few tries this is what I got to work.
Set firewall to interactive. When you get the pop up alert go to advanced settings. Make sure the boxes for any port, any web address & both [in & out] selected.
Also learning mode seems to work & creates a rule but has only done for 8080 not port 80 yet as it connected to 8080 1st time:).

I will emails ESET to say why isn't F@H in the whitelist of programs that work automatically.
