Cant get "Hidden" HL2 mod working....

I downloaded the "Hidden" mod for HL2 but I cant get it to work?!?!

When I try the tutorial it tells me my Steam account cant be validated!?!? I can start a server (but cant play until someone joins it!) but whenever I try and join a server, it takes ages to load and eventually stops responding and I have to ctrl+alt+del and stop it, or even do a hard reset!!!

I did see mention of a patch for it?? Anyone know what my problem might be??

Any help would be appreciated, would like to try this on an upcoming mini-LAN....

you probally got bored waiting for the server to load up. i get it as well sometimes.. you just have to be patient with it so it will load. the mini-lan gave me the impression that you are connecting through a router, so have you got all the ports fowarded?

It takes about 2-3 minutes to get the loading page to state it is using "VAC" security on the server?? (no idea what that is, I assume a "punkbuster" type of thing to stop cheating??)
Then I've left it loading for about 5-7 minutes and if I ctrl+alt+del, the task manager tells me its not responding.

Its not a router problem, I connect via a PCI ADSL modem....

Is there a patch for this??

Has it all been installed into the correct path on your Steam folder?

Make sure that any executables are getting access through any firewall software you are running also.
