cant get ihs off

ive been trying for the fast few weeks to get the ihs off a couple of chips and im having no joy

at first i thought i needed a smaller knife

so ive got a craft knife, its the thinneswt knife ive ever seen

and i still cant cut through, ive read the guide to doing it but, all i see is it being cut through, with a shot from above, i need to see a shot from the side to see if im missing something. i cant get a thinner knife and ive even tried putting a chip in the oven to warm the silcone to see if it helped

im stuck and well fed up

any help would be great

gave up in the end, killed a 3800 trying to do it (practice go before fx60) so cant take the risk, oh well

was that a 3800 venice or a X2 3800?

Shame about not being able to get the IHS off Turbo. Did you try using a razor blade?

was a venice, yep got a razor blade, took to chips off the 3800 so knacked that, watched the dfi video and followed that, its not advisable to follow that video as he cuts quite deep, which is what i did
