I have a weird issue. In the past I've been able to access the BIOS on my Acer laptop just fine. Then this morning I tried to get into it as I wanted to install a new operating system and change the boot order but couldn't. I tried F2, F10, ESC and DEL and none of them worked and I'm somewhat confused over wbat the issue might be. The BIOS doesn't even show a welcome screen or anything. The computer just boots up to the Acer logo and then on into the operating system.

Can anyone think of what might be wrong with this please? I'm at a loss.

You should be able to get into it with the advanced restart.

Hold the Shift key while clicking Restart from the start button or login screen, it should restart into a blue screen where you select Troubleshoot, advanced options, UEFI firmware settings then restart to enter BIOS next start up.

Thank you. Unfortunately the laptop is currently running Fedora 42 so unless there is an alternative for Linux I can't do that.

If you shutdown the laptop, then press and hold F2 and while holding F2 down try powering it up.

I've had a couple Acers over the years and never had such an issue whenever I needed to swap out storage devices (used to swap between SATA and NVME).
