It'll be in the mobo manual.

Basically it involves moving small piece of plastic/metal to connect two of three jumpers for a few seconds. Uh, it doesn't actually look like I can explain this very well, so just RTFM, lol. :)

O-O O

then

O O-O

then back again.

Short answer, different each board. on My personal motherboard, it is done by:

Removing the CMOS battery, and then "shorting" 2 pins... as in, the small jumper switches (the ones you can remove the top off, the same kind that are used to select hard drives as Prim or Slave) I move from the Default 2 pins, and move over to touch pin 2 and 3.

EXAMPLE

111
--**

111
**--

** = not on the pines

-- representing the contact

I say look in your manual for more help though!

Any idea where it is on there? :S
Thanks for the help so far, is this most likely to be the problem?

"Next to PCI slot #5, at the edge of the motherboard, is the CMOS reset jumper. This location is far from ideal, as in most cases, the jumper will be very close to the bottom of the case. If you have a card installed in that slot, you'll almost certainly have to remove it to reset the jumper if needed."

Found it i think, green plastic thing covering the bottom two of the three prongs, i need to take it off and plug it on the top two, and back? does it need to be on while im doing this?

Edit : I also need to remove a battery?

Yes it does, if you want to see pretty sparks appear from the motherboard ;)

NO. DO NOT do it while it is on. It will probablly kill your Bios. do it while your Pc is OFF. and take out the BIOS battery to (I always do, and that way there is no chance it wont reset).

Leave the jumper like that for a few minutes with the battery out, put the jumper back, plop back in the battery.

Remember your Bios will be defaulted!

Green thing is out and in the other slot, im guessing the bios battery is the round battery?

Apologies for being so... annoying? not a huge fan of blowing my computer up.

That said, the reason why i need to get into the bios, is to overclock, for the first time..

Got it all working, im pretty sure my description of the battery (round  ) was a lot worse than the first descriptions of the jumpers :)

I think my CMOS battery has run out. Coz everyday I boot my PC the date/time is wrong. Where can I get a new CMOS battery from? or is it something else/
