Usually I'm a fan of rpg games, but with dragon age, Ive started a new character about 5 times now only to get bored.

I like it up until the first big battle with the darkspawn, then I dont like how the storyline just vanishes and youre left to your own devices.

If the storyline continues shortly afterwards then Ill see about playing it again, I dont like having no concurrent story, I didnt sign up for a grand theft origins style game.

Its so far from Grand Theft Auto it actually hurts me to hear the two compared.

Just keep playing. The story is involved and vivid for the entirety of the game.

the way it gets totally freeform after the big battle near the start, you get to go anywhere and do the quests in any order you like, kind of like GTA

It actually feels a bit more like Mass Effect 1/2 rather than GTA where you have a few leads to follow and then go about questing.

Just pick a destination and start from it .... most of the towns are related to the main quest in some form :)

I haven't played DAO, but i've watched my little brother played it since i bought him it and the expansion for his birthday and it looks more like KoTOR than Mass Effect.

In terms of plot/questing its like Mass Effect 1/2, I didn't mean it was exactly the same game graphics-wise.

Had a similar problem with DA:O for me it was the stupidly upbeat voice acting, with so much carnage and blood the 'fun' voices really didnt fit and broke the game for me

No worries Wes ... its been awhile since I played Kotor 1/2 .... basically its just about everything Bioware ever did :D

When I started playing DOA, it reminded me a lot of Baldur's Gate 1/2 as well:)
