Is it a case of you need a car for work, or you just plain old want one?.

I like driving, and I don't want to spend a lump sum on a car as my first one. I don't have to pay rent nor I have any other debts/expenses so I thought a loan less than £200 a month for no more than 3 years for a car would be reasonable, especially the ones with no early repayment penalty.

If you've only just arrived in the UK then you're an extremely poor choice to lend to. It only takes a small percentage of people to default to cause a loss, and if you've lived outside of the UK and you don't own a house then you have a far higher chance of moving abroad again.

Lol, people who have no money and want to buy expensive cars.

Suck it up, buy a cheap carp banger and wait a year!

anyways, as the above predator shows they want you in the credit trap. Do yourself a favour and be grateful that you haven't got any debt and dont fall into the debt trap. Buy a cheap Beater and drive it till the wheels fall off, rinse and repeat. Dont fall for the, get yourself in debt to raise your credit score so you can get yourself further in debt, its a scam to keep you a slave to the lender.

Not sure if this thread is supposed to be a bit on the nose, but will bite anyway.

If you're buying off a garage you might be-able to persuade them to offer finance, or get them to finance it for you.
If it's a loan to buy used from a random dude, then honestly I can't blame them for not wanting to lend to you.
