Im Stumped, flummoxed and frustrated!

I bought medal of honour tier 1 (-second hand from ebay but in perfect condition) but when i put the disk in and autoplay starts, the language box comes up, after choosing english, and then after clicking on install....nothing happens, not a peep, no installation begins??

ive just installed battlefield: bad company 2 with no problem, apart from the very slow downloaded update!! this is a EA/Dice game also, so i dont understand the problem. ive never had any problem loading games before, disk drives are all working fine as far as i know, game disk is recognised in my computer etc.

i couldnt find any ideas in google search etc, has anyone any suggestions to what the problem might be and how i could sort it?

(-ive been eager to play this because my spec isnt good enough for black ops and now this wont even load!!!)

Thanks in advance

Pc spec:
asus a8n-sli deluxe, n force 4 mobo, hec 550w psu, 4gb ddr ram (pc 3200, 400mhz)
athlon 64 x2 4800+ dual core processor, 300gb hard drive, windows xp sp3
(32 bit), Leadtek winfast px 8800gts tdh 640mb nvidia graphics card.

Checked task manager to see whether the process for it is in there? Usually would be called SETUP.exe or words to similar effect.

Also, not sure whether it requires steam to use it? Try adding the game keys to a steam account.

well a second hand copy will surely have the serial code already used so basically barring you from MP ? (which by the way is the only part worth playing)

try installing EA game downloader and enter the serial you have, that way you maybe able to install via that method... if not the disc must be defective

there is no sign of it in task manager, the install just doesnt seem to start.
i was told the game was unregistered so entering the serial code shouldnt be a problem, im more concerned that i cant get the disk to load to the pc at all
dont know what to do!

ive recently had a system crash and had to use the xp disk to sort the pc out through the recovery console, dont know if there is a 'missing link' somewhere that i might have lost when sorting out my computer.( no problem loading and playing bfbc 2 ??)

if so, what could it be?

any of your friends got the game on DVD you could borrow theirs to test ?

if not again try using EA Downloader, enter your serial and it might let you download via that client...

check this http://support.microsoft.com/kb/942288 see if theres anything on that which can help (I dont know if thats a solution)

run the setup.exe in administration mode ...

failing that it's probably a faulty disk or your OS is fraked up somewhere... I do recall the installation takes a long time though...

goodluck

When I have had such problems like this in the past I have just copied the entire disc contents to the hard drive and run the installation from there. You could try that.

However with modern copy protection and the like, I do not know whether such a method would work anymore.

ive tried to manually load from the disk (following the steps given by EA support) disk copied to a new folder fine but when i try to open the Set up folder for autorun i get the same problem as before, just nothing happens at all.

ive looked on the EA site but i cant install a 'downloader' without having to buy the game again online before i enter the serial code??

totally stumped!

no, ive just recently installed norton 2011 that replaced panda security.
i though there might be a conflict with an anti virus program so after i uninstalled panda i tried to install the game before installing norton but no joy, game still refuses to begin installation!!

Best thing you can do is actually call the support number mate, email usually works but a phone call is usually far better.

Also if you have access to naughty sites might be word dl'ing a copy and seeing if that will install, you may have been ripped off.
