Can't get memtest86 to work

I've tried to get memtest86 to work off a bootable CD, but it doesn't work.

It begins to boot off the CD and looks as if its launching the program. This is the output that i get:

1. FD 1.44MB SystemType - (06)
Starting Caldera DR-DOS...

Then there is a dash that rapidly flashes below all that. I've waited a few minutes but it doesn't really do anything. I last used memtest86 a few years back and don't remember it working like this!

Looks like tis trying to work off a floppy disk. Do you have the bootable disc iso? Perhaps try using the floppy disk version if you have a floppy drive. I remember trying to use the programme off of a 700KB disk, and it didnt like that one jot either!

I used memtest86+ today, and it worked ok for me. I downloaded from here: http://www.memtest.org/#downiso and I downloaded 'Pre-Compiled Bootable ISO (.zip)' I had to extract the ISO from that, and burned it to disc using Alcohol 120% trial version today.

I created a bootable CD using the pre-compiled iso, and thats what happened. I haven't got an FDD but i guess i can buy one and fit it
