cant get more than 3.8ghz from i7 920!!!!

i bought a 920 from overclockers along with 6gig partiot 1600ghz mem an akasa nero heatsink/fan and a p6t deluxe v2 m/board.
having read loads of info on overclocking it, i cant seem to get above 3.8ghz.
and with x.m.p settings, i cant get above 3.5ghz.
can anyone offer any advice as what to look at first.

Dont use xmp it sux, 191x21 will need less voltage then 200x20 if your going for 4ghz.
What your load temps on prime at 3.8
what your vore core if you have a average d0 like me i need 1.3volts

Can you post your BIOS settings ... I have the same CPU and MB as you, one thing I noticed is that you need to tinker the PLL Voltage and ICH/IOH Voltage in order to get it stable.

thanks for info, just changed the multiplier to 21 and hit 4ghz no problem.
obviously a component i have doesnt like the 20x multiplier.
