Removed my R9 290 cos it's dead but even with CMOS wipe I can't get the intel graphics to work just says that no cable is connected and seems to stay at BIOS screen as when I hit the power button it shuts down immediately. I will try another cable if I can find one but any other ideas?

I had a similar problem on an old AM3 system, my card died so took it out but the onboard would not initialize after the boot-up, just got a black screen.
IIRC I had to unplug the power lead from the PSU, remove the CMOS battery, left it out for 10 minutes, then put it back together and it worked.
How did you clear the CMOS? jumper or battery removal? and was the PSU lead unplugged when you did it?
