Hi all

I'm trying to get my LGM227WDP to display its native resolution of 1980 x 1080 but am being recommended a desktop area display of 1440 x 900

As far as I can see, there is no way of manually setting a 1980 x 1080 resolution. This is both in windows display settings and the user interface for my ati radeon 4870. I'm connecting the monitor via RGB to one of the two ports coming out of the graphics card (it has an adapter to convert rgb to the graphic port which I can only describe as rgb with a horizontal slit alongside). I'm sure you know what I mean but thought I'd give some detail since I'm not too good with modern pc parts :)

If any of you can shed any light on this I'd be bloody grateful, I feel like using dos with the resolution as it is at the mo....

a pretty bodge way of finding out is to plug a normal lc monitor in and set it to 60hz 1920x1080 and then hot-swap the cable..

Theyre should be an option for 1080 though if its a 1080p tv. not sure if its a 1080i..

Are you sure that the TV supports that res over that connection?

I know some will only support certain res on certain interfaces.

My house-mate had a TV in the past which could only support 1440x900 over the VGA cable (DSUB) and required use of HDMI to pass through a 1080i/p signal, so the quoted poster could well be correct in your case I think

It's because you're using S-Video.

Your monitor has a DVI port and two HDMI ports, why are you using the S-Video connection?
