I've installed Ubuntu on my new Lenovo Ideapad 5. From a live USB, everything worked flawlessly, but now it's installed, the trackpad is wholly unresponsive. Does anyone have any idea what I can do to work out why and fix it? Thanks!

It gets weirder - if I go into advanced bootloader settings in grub, and choose the top option (which I assume is default), it works fine. If I boot straight into Ubuntu without going through that menu, it doesn't

If you're not going into the top (default) boot option then what do you mean by going straight into Ubuntu?
Sorry for the slow reply. It's odd, it just seems to work intermittently, with no apparent pattern as to when it will or won't work. It probably works 50% of the times I boot.
