Just bought myself a new build, using a Sugo, 550W Seasonic PSU, an Abit F-i90HD mobo and an E2180 CPU with NT06 CPU. To this I've added my old 2GB ram, my 320GB Sata HDD and my pioneer 109 DVDRW (IDE).

I've been trying to boot from my XP SP2 CD (boot priority set to CD) but when it comes up saying 'hit enter to boot from CD' I do and nothing happens - it then seems to check the HDD at which point it states NTLDR cannot be found (FYI there is no windows install on this drive atm).

I've tried juggling around various drives including my sata Pioneer 215 DVDRW but this mobo just doesn't want to boot from CD. Can anyone help?

sounds like a naffed cd :/

Do you have another machine to see if the disk is readable?

Hi UV,

Yes, tried the drive and CD in another machine and they're fine - also tried different bootable CD's in the Sugo and they're the same.

I've heard there's quite a few problems with this board and that a BIOS update was a good idea but without a bootable CD that will be tricky. I'm wondering if I can half install XP onto the HDD in another system then hook it up the the sugo for the component detection part.

You using a USB keyboard? Is Legacy USB support enabled in the BIOS? You got a PS2 keyboard you could use instead?

doh! of course..

same happened to me, and I didn't even think of that :D

Duh, that was it, well done RP - it did cross my mind but I assumed that wasn't the issue as the 'DEL' worked to allow me into the BIOS.
