Hi

I have put together a new PC and can't get it to boot. When I press the power button the red LED for CPU & DRAM light up on the motherboard for like a quarter of second and then go out.

i7-10700
Asrock B560 Pro
Corsair CMK32GX4M2A2666C16 Vengeance LPX 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4

I know the CPU and ram are working as I tried it in another PC.

What else could be wrong?

All connections connected?
Try ram in different slots?
Mobo case/front panel connectors all okay?

It seems silly to do this but plenty of us have forgotten something such as cpu power lead...

Both power connectors are plugged in. I have also jumped the power switch pins just in case it is a faulty switch.

I borrowed a Asrock B460 board from someone and that did the same thing of quick flash of the LED on the board.

I have tried both the cpu and ram in my other PC which has a Gigabyte B460 board and it powers up.

It probably is going to be something simple but I haven't found what it is yet!

I have also swapped the psu which made no difference

Finally worked it out.

On the mobo there is a 8 pin power connector. I was plugging in an 8 pin connector from the psu in to this. I tried plugging in the 2 x 4 pin connectors and everything has started working!
