Cant get on steam help

hi

ive just tried to load up hl2 episode 1 and it comes up with

platform error: bad module' friends/friendsui.dll', not loading

ive disabled antivirus and firewall but still no joy . can anybody help as i would like to play tonight

try deleting the client registry.blob file found in your steam folder

Can't remember what problem it was that this used to fix but you could try it anyway,

Close steam, delete the ClientRegistry.blob file in the Steam folder, then run it again.

I don't promise anything though
