I've been trying to squeeze a bit more out of my G0 quad for a few days now but I seem to have hit a barrier at 380fsb, anything over and the system won't boot even if I wang the volts right up, 380 boots, primes etc no problem so I wondered if it was down to the motherboard? (Gigabyte DS4, P965, Rev 1. latest bios), if so, what we be a decent replacement motherboard? (reasonably priced too). TIA

Could be a number of things. Have you tried 400 FSB to see if its a possible FSB wall?

Have you upped the volts on the NB?

Sorry to but in but i have the same problem.

What would the NB be called in bios as i don't see a setting for it and what would be safe to put through it?

I know Vooch could only manage 390mhz in his rev 1.0 P965 DS4.

But it's still pretty decent for a P965 board.

what multiplier are you using?

try a 8x multi and 401 fsb - that should give you 3.2

i can run a high fsb on the 8x multi but not at 9x and thats with a 965 chipset

Sounds similar to my fsb wall thats @390 fsb after that all hell breaks out no matter how many volts i give cpu memory or nb and sb quite common place with intel 965 chipsets im led to believe :o

Yeah a lot of my older 965 setups would'nt do over 378-380 reliably. 401FSB might work though it'd prolly be of lower performance than 380FSB due to the FSB strap kicking in.

380 still seems to be the limit no matter what multiplier or vcore/nb voltage I use. Ho hum, would an IP35 pro be a better choice?

I am having the exact same problem cannot get past 380MHZ must be a P965 problem on these Gigabyte boards..You could go for the Abit ip 35pro seems to be a decent board and it's on offer here..
