Right with voltage at 1.4950 and at 356x9 3204MHz it boots still but as soon as I run 3DMark06 it hangs during the first test. Also the temps at idle were around 52degC but upped to around 58-62degC+ under load.
Could I have hit a bit of a void? I've heared people say the Q6600 has a bit of a problem around the 3.2 mark? I've even lowered the multiplyer but to no joy. Should I just skip a few MHz say 50 and see if it boots at that?
have you slacked you ram timings off, they should be fine, but its a good idea to take that out of the equation, increase the timings, you shouldn't leave it on auto anyway., get you CPU stable then bring you ram up to speed.
I was in your shoes recently I have the same chip and mobo as you.
What is the VID of your chip?
What cooling are you using? (case etc)
what is your memory?
GO slow and keep a record of your progress mate.
keep the ram divider on 1:1 and keep upping the FSB on the chip until it fails. If its failing on 354 x 9 I'd up your Vcore to 1.33 and try again etc. You may also need to up the DDR2 voltage and also the CPU VTT and MCH in the BIOS. I also disabled C1E in the bios. Your Vcore looks low for that clock but the chips do vary.
