Cant get SLI to play anymore?

Funny one this... I knocked up a PC with a couple of 6600GTs for trying out SLI.

I got bored, saw no reasons to waste a useable card and I moved them to the kids systems for a bit. They now have good cards in theirs, so I nabbed the 6600GTs back to use in my No2 box.

Now, I cannot for the life of me get them to SLI?

I have tried various flavours of Detonators, but they simply wont go!?!?!?

Currently, I am running v71.89 and this is tellign me that I need to have a matching pair of cards to enable SLI... They are both Identical cards. They are both Gigabyte 6600GTs.

The whole PC is an Asus A8N-SLI, x2 4400 @ Stock ( Its a fresh install of XP32 ) and 4x1GB Samsung 3200

Dunno why its doing this.

I have tested the cards out and they are both fully working and are fine one their own. They are stock and have never been flashed ( Although I dare say the Firmware may cause such an issue, but they were able to SLI before... Why not now? )

Any clues?

man those 71.89s must be well over a year old,

get the new drivers and prpare for a big performance increase, lol

Yeah, the drivers are old, but Im going through all my Detonators in the hope of finding drivers that will work for it... Those ones at least give me some kind of info in that they seem to show something on SLI... NONE of the others do.

I have all the latest drivers by the way... Just in case you think that I dont update my drivers all that often, I can happily inform you that I have 36GB of driver files for all my PCs... 1290MB for just my GeForce Detonators, so I have all the drivers out there, including DNA / Omega etc

97.92 dont work with the cards at all
93.71 does work, but has no option for SLI
v8x.xx dont show anything for SLI
v7x.xx show the option for SLI but tells me that the cards are not compatible?

So, as I said, the v71.89 are latest drivers I have, that do show that there should be an SLI option, but just dont let it go?

So, both those links I have, and both dont help.

Anything else?

93.71 can be buggy as hell depending on cards so you may be better off with 91.47. This is what i had to roll back to for my 7800gt's. http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_91.47.html

I believe 97.92 is for 8800 cards only.

Did you flip the small PCB (between the two PCI-E slots) from single GPU to SLI?

I got 91.47 so I will do those next.

The SLI Card... Yeah, I have not used the board since the last time, and I only took these cards out to use in my kids PCs for a bit, so I never swapped it over so I dont need to swap it back ( EH? )

91.47 installed, and I went to the nVIDIA Control Panel, and there is was in plain sight... So, I enabled it... Job done.
