I recently had to install a new motherboard (MSI K8N) with AC97 sound to replace a board with a terminal problem.
The PC is all fine, and will play DVD's, CD's and MP3 files with full sound - no problem. But when using web based streaming site (www.tv-links.co.uk, youtube, myspace for example) I no longer get any sound. Am I missing a codec perhaps? I have used the latest RealTek drivers for the AC97 to no avail. Any ideas would be most welcome.

I get the same problem; well, it's similar. When using my laptop, music plays fine through media players for example, but often any sound through my web browser (Firefox) doesn't work. Although, there are a few occasions it does work; it's really temperamental, as if it just cuts out most of the time.

Hi Chaps,

Flash is installed, I am sure that the plugins are all ok, but not sure if there are any particular ones that are needed for sound?

A quick Google for Flash/sound related problems brought up this thread:

It looks as though there are a few things to try there - maybe even for your problem too, Mansize_tissue :)

Thank you. It's a bit long, but I'll read through it properly later. From what I've read it seems like I should just try adding those entries to the registry, but I'll wait until I've given it a proper read before I attempt anything. Be sure to report back your findings, Dodge. ;)
