hey guys, just a quick problem, i cant seem to get my modem config page up anymore, using 192.168.100.1 its the black surfboard modem....also got 2 routers, but my computer only goes through one of them.....any ideas?

edit/ i can get both router pages up no problems.

Can you ping it?

May sound silly but try turning off A/V & software firewalls if you haven't already, my old netgear refused to with the AV enabled (and strangely a dell switch refused to with Avast enabled)

EDIT:
Obviously turn them back on if it doesn't work and if it does make your changes and then turn them back on

ok yes i can pin the modem, i actually dont run any AV or Firewalls on here, using both FF and IE it doesnt work.....the main router im connected to is a Netgear RP614 v4....and its bugging me as ive got really slow internet, and i need to change the channel ID on the config to get a free channel.

You altering the channel on the modem will do you no good as a) only certain channels are functional in any area and b) iirc it needs to correspond to the same channel on your head end profile. Also you have two routers, your computer only connects through one of them and you can access both routers status pages- any chance you can be a bit more specific about how you are connected ?

Right, changing the channel is what ive been told by the blueyonder tech people to do when i have a slow internet connection, saves me ringing them....and it does make a difference, and i can use all 6 for whatever reason, 1-6 works, and ive been told it doesnt make a difference if i do it or they do it themselfs..

Right we have a RP614v4 thats connected to the modem, this computer and another are connected to the RP614v4...then we have a wireless router plugged into the RP614v4 which allows our laptop to have internet. Ive tryed from all computers and i cant access the page at all...Further more for me to directly connect to the modem i would need to clean the cupboard under the stairs to gain access to all routers and modem...and there is a lot of stuff in there.

Edit// im stumped as to why i cant do this anymore, i used to be able to do it on the old v3 of the RP614,but with this one it doesnt seem to work
Only thing i can think of, is the ip for old router was 192.168.0.1
the new one is 192.168.1.1....only thing that i can think of

Are you using a proxy?

Open Internet Explorer and go to Tools / Internet Options

Click the 'Connections' tab then click the 'Lan Settings' tab and make sure that 'Use a proxy server for your lan' is unticked.

no proxy at all....so im not going to clear out a cupboard to get to the modem and im not ringing the tech people, as it should be a 3 min call, and they make that into a 30 min call, doing tests which actually lead to the fix that i said when i first called them
