you might need to register wmpband.dl or wmp.dll. Try the following and see if it makes the Windows Media Player option appear in the toobars list:

Start > Run > regsvr32 wmp.dll
Start > Run > regsvr32 wmpband.dll

hth :)

I'm using xp64 so should I replace the 32s with 64s? :o

EDIT: No didn't work, errors with 32s and 64s. Hmmm...

Upon further Googling, it appears that the mini player doesn't work in xp64 according to someone who posted a comment on this page.

Hi,

Wondering if anyone here can help resolve my miniplayer issue. I just installed Windows XP x64 with Media Player 10. The mini player does not show up when I minimize the media player. I tried right-clicking the task bar, but there was no media player option. I rebooted and that didn't change anything. Any suggestions?

I right click my taskbar then go to toolbars but windows media player doesn't appear there? Anyone know what I gota do to make it appear? Thanks
strangely enough i was having exactly the same problem earlier. no idea how to fix it, but i don't really care since winamp+vlc > media player anyway.
