cant get xbox gamepad working with fifa 17

i cant seem to be able to get the xbox gamepad working for fifa 17 on pc, can anyone help ?

Have you made sure it's connected before you start the game? Also is it a 360 pad or one pad?

I'm being an arse

As said above, try make sure the pad is on before the game. Test in another game.

If it works in other games, check Fifa menu, some games disable pads until you select it in the control options.

Op, did you get this resolved?

I am not sure what can "go wrong" to stop it working, just in this game.
