Can't get Xp sp2 to install!

Unable to find file "update.exe" at the end of the file extraction.

Can't get windows installer 3.1 to install (just disappears off screen).

I've grabbed:

setupapi.log and Svcpack.log

Any ideas please?

Nice, sounds like the file you downloaded is corrupt. Try downloading it again.

Thanks but I've used the update disk on another machine and it works fine.

ew. Is the disk scratched in any way?

extract it manually (using 7zip or winrar)

update.exe should be in a folder called update

-give dial-a-fix a go, should fix any windows installer problems, saved many pc's for me in the past http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4899.html
