Miss my 1098S and my 748S even more!

So... Going to put an offer over to this guy:

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/4202296.htm

I imagine he might stoop a little, but it's early days for his add so need to speak to him. See if he is eager to sell or not. But I might offer £3250.

Thoughts? I would get rid of the dual seat asap and replace it with a genuine single seat :)

If this was Facebook, I'd 'like' this! :p. Thought you'd struggle without a Ducati/Sport bike :D.

Definitely needs to go back to a genuine single seat, but looks like a tidy example.

Yea, it's just not right going into the garage and seeing nothing... Really miss spending my spare time tinkering with the Ducati's :(

Looks nice, definitely change to the single seat :)

Also looks like the rear is overinflated to cause that tear!

You would be suprised and shocked to hear that most dealers advise running 38 on the rear!!! I never go above 32 my self. And then 30 on the front.

Oooo, tyre talk, decided. I'm going to view it!

38!?! No wonder if he is running that.

I run pretty much the same as you on most tyres, its only the Power ones that are under 30, and under 20 cold on track.... :D

Good luck! Knew you would not be without a bike for long!

I know, a ducati dealer in Winchester, which I highly regard as good. One mechanic told me my pressures were low on the 1098S when it went in to get the ECU mapped. He said he bumped it up to 38, I asked for it to be lowered and he just looked at me all confused lol.

Very odd.

What happened to wanting a bike that didn't make your arse feel like you'd spent a week as a bitch in prison?

I know :( But lets face it, I'm no relaxed rider haha. Anyone remember me from the meet on 'the road'? Hardly slow haha.

So yea, this is going to be my toy, not a commuter. Hence the price is appetising :D

Hold on... You had and then SOLD a 748S and 1098S?

You sir, need to see a doctor.

Haha, I know :( At the time I was going through a 'sod it, don't ride them enough' phase. Then wanted a more 'touring' bike so test rode a 1200S multi, almost bought it. But decided not to. As much fun as it was, it was too 'modern' for my liking. So was the 1098S. So that's why I want an older Ducati.

So yea, the next bike I buy will be with me for a long time I think. The 996 isn't bad. If I'm honest, would prefer a 916 or a 998 lol.

I am glad to see you've come back into the fold!

But also somewhat saddened as it re-enforces the thought I'll never be able to stop either.

Why a 916 over a 996? Same bike with less power?

Why do the rear tyre pressures need to be so much lower than other bikes of similar size and weight?

They don't, its not bike specific, its tyre and rider preference, sure they give guidelines on what they should be, but a tyre is going to heat up completely different with my riding style compared to another, how hard you accelerate, braking etc, if I run the recommended pressures the ride feels horrible, the tyres are too hard when heated up and its a harsh ride, it effects how your suspension works and so on.
I can personally tell if my pressures are down to just by just a few PSI, I am pretty sure Agnes is the same with his riding style :p

"£3499 NO OFFERS"

Might not appreciate the £3250 offer by the way he has put that.

Nice bike though, wish I could afford one :p

Nail on the head. And I image me and fireskull ride the same. I am very hard on both the throttle and front brake. I NEVER touch the rear brake. Only when I want to give my fingers a rest at traffic lights lol.

Actually, I would love to have a track day with you Fire, would be a good laugh mate!

I like to use the rear.... :o;)
But seriously I am a heavy brake user, front & back and that heats my tyres up really quick, especially on track when I didn't used to have warmers.
And I use my rear a hell of a lot commuting, to give my damn fingers a rest!

You too Agnes, would definitely be a good laugh, Spring next year is when I am going to get back into them, been almost 4 years since I last did one :(
But now I am back fit and got a bike again I am itching to get back on track.
But I am going to use a 125 though, so that way if I have lost my 'mojo' I have an excuse.... :D
