can't I move when I wake up

Hm, but there is something that does that, as there was a documentary on it.

This woman has been pronounced dead about 3 times now, and woken up in a morgue twice.

something thing i can think of is that blow/puffer fish poison, and with more modern sensors it doesn't work.

I have had this once also, It isn't dangerous, simply the mechanism that stops you physically acting out your dreams not turning off. But I almost died from the panic. It was horrible. :(

seems it happened before the 80's when those finger clip things came in.

It was a while ago :)

The show is quite interesting to watch actually, theres a younger girl later on and she just randomly goes limp in the street...Her friends basically baby sit her.

It's just weird how it comes about? One year your fine, then suddenly you have this condition.

Then again that happened to me I guess, I suddenly had some problem with me after being fine for 14 years :P Then suddenly started blacking out...Which was lovely.

Has anyone woken up having slept on your arm and you can move properly but your arm is completely dead and floppy. That is weird!

Its best when you fall asleep with your arm across your face. You wake up with what feels like someone elses hand trying to suffocate you.

Scared the crap out of me the first time I did that :D

I've had it a few times, once where I had the distinct impression that there was a person behind me looking at me, once where I felt something was pressing down on me, and a couple of times where neither of those happened and I just couldnt move.

I get it when i'm stressed out, which is really annoying because I get paranoid about having strokes. My chest and left arm keep twinging when I have a cigarette sometimes.

I've had this before. It only happens when I (can only assume) I dream of a spider crawling on me or towards me (but im sort of awake) amount of times I cannot move, but when I do, its like a burst of energy, I spring up, turn the lights on, and check for a spider, for about 30 seconds, I actually believe they is one... LOL.

This happens a lot? would like to know what causes it (apart from me being a wuss and being scared of spiders )

Also, It happens when im just going to sleep, and I cannot move. LOL.

Sorry for being slightly OT.

my girlfriend does this too..

"bledd, please turn the light on, i think there's spiders all over the bed"

/sigh :p

I almost certainly get it if I sleep on my back. I always sleep on my front however so its not usually a problem.

I feel like I'm going to snap my neck if I sleep on my front :p

Unless you go face down into the pillow!
