Can't install alpenfohn k2 mount doom correctly

Hi I am trying to install this cooler on to my board but when I have installed it the cooler is facing the graphics card and not the ram?? Yet in all the I turns I see of everyone else's Rigs it is facing the ram. If I try and face it towards the graphics card it fits perfect but towards the ram it doesn't fit at all, have I messed up something with the backplate? Really baffled as followed the instructions perfectly.

What board are you trying to install it on?
Is your ram high profile?
What case?

Sounds like you installed the bracket 90° the wrong way

Unscrew it and fit it so that the two mounting plates/arms are at the top and the bottom.
Hope that makes sense.

Definetly as Uncle Petey says mate. The bracket needs to be facing as the pic. I have the K2 Mount Doom and mine is facing the ram slots.
