Hi,

Tearing my hair out here, went to update to latest driver from previous and boom, Error 1603 - Cannot install or partially installed (Some generic driver gets installed) I have tried everything -

Windows updates
DDU
Run as Admin
Delete AMD folder from C drive

Same problem everytime its driving me nuts

Anyone come across this issue and overcome it? My gaming PC is now useless because of this issue :(

Thanks

AMD Fury Nitro GPU

make sure you download 64bit driver

Go to Safe mode
Device Manager
Right click Unistall
Try install the driver in safemode if not go to normal mode & reinstall

many have had this on NV with W10, its where W10 drivers take control

Thanks but neither worked, completely out of ideas spent 3 hours on this and same error every time, no matter what installer I download I just get a web checking updater that tells me a 16. driver is installed, I cant remove or update it when I remove it and run it again its there laughing at me

resorted to a w10 reset won't know if that worked until I get home tonight. Gutted its going to take me ages to reinstall and everything.

has no one had this issue on here? It's the most frustrating thing I've had to deal with in pc gaming for years absolutely nothing worked and I tried everything

can this be an amd thing? I want to avoid it happening again and will change gpu if I have to

Have you tried to install driver through device manager rather than the exe, cant remember where i saw it but i had to install an onboard intel graphics driver this way.

Yes I managed to get a driver installed that way last night but the management software is needed which led me to resolving this last night. Because it would install via Device Manager I knew the driver itself wasn't the issue, it was the installer package or management software that could only be the issue.

This led me to thinking about why the software wouldnt install so I decided to look at install locations which led me to MyDocs which turns out the drive it was mapped to was disconnected, reconnected it and everything installed. It didnt actually install anything to MyDocs but either way, it installed and I was relieved!
