Can't install C&C4?

Hi all,

Just bought this game, I cant install from EA download manager or from disc, comes up with a box stating,

The Windows Installer could not be accessed. This can occur if the Windows Installer Is incorrectly installed. Contact your support personel for assistance.

I can't find Windows Installer ? What is it?

Any ideas on what to do?

Don't bother installing it. It's God awful by all accounts. They took a huge crap on the C&C brand with this one.

as if C&C3 wasn't bad enough...

i bought it on release, played through the SP and haven't touched it since. MP was basically "first one to mammoth tanks with railguns wins" :rolleyes:

LOL,

I quite liked the old C&C games, with Yuri's Revenge and C&C3 Tiberium Wars being faves.

I got this working, seemed to have some infected files/virus goings on which may have affected my Windows Installer? As I had to download and merge msiserver to get it to install after some hocus pocus file removal and admin.

Well with regards to the game, I have to say I am pretty dissapointed! My son may well too, he is 6yrs old and likes building bases. He seemed very exited when he saw the add hence me buying it. (The Mastedons are like what he calls "Size Matters" from the Tiberium Essence Mod)

Now that I need something to ease the dissapointment, what game should I go for now????

put some petroleum on a tissue and give the disc a wipe...maybe try heating it with a match.

i paid £4.85 for it, and for that it isnt too bad to be honest

your "wife" in the game is perhaps the worst actress EVER though lol

A disappointing and tragic end to the C&C tiberium saga and probably C&C as a whole for a few years now.

Steam still wants £29.99 for it hahaha

Get Supreme Commander and the expansion Forged Alliance. DO NOT get Supreme Commander 2. You want the original.

Best RTS since Total Annihilation, and Sup Com is it's successor in all but name.

£10 for the game and the expansion from Play at the moment.

you should feel relieved you cant install it, i wouldnt break if i saw the lead designer crossing the road.

Think it was £2.50 on steam for sum com and forged alliance not long ago.

Sup com takes far to long to get into the action IMO. Buy Starcraft 2, it wont take money from your account until its shipped and in the time until then you can enjoy the beta. Awesome game

As far as C&C / Redalert games go, I stopped playing after Redalert 2 and Yuris revenge. Generals was terrible, as was C&C 3 and 4

Long gone are the fun days of C&C 1 and Redalert. Blizzard had the right idea with Starcraft 2 - Take an awesome, but old game and give it some new units, features, multiplayer framework and nice new graphics and sound, whilst not changing the style of the game - same view and basic commands

If someone did the same with redalert 2 it would be epic. One can only hope. Saying this redalert 2 still didnt have balance. It always seemed like a race to tesla tanks, prism tanks and superpowers

An update to the 1st two C&C games would be awesome. I'd like the same graphics, just fix windows compatabvility and internet play tbh and add a few new maps... (also skirmish and AI update to the first game and improved ai in skirmish for ra.)
