Any ideas, was going to uninstall framework and try a reinstall.

Hi Dude,
I had a similar problem a few patches ago. ( ATI )These are the fixes in no relevent order but needless to say i have patched twice since doing and all is well with no dodgey error message on instal of patch.

Firstly download Framework 2.0. Use the manual option for Windows update Auto is crap.
Reboot.
Then go here and use this fix.

Or this one
RESOLUTION

Method 1

Unregister Windows Installer, and then reregister Windows Installer. To do this, follow these steps:

1. On the "Start" menu, click "Run:.

2. In the "Open" box, type "msiexec /unreg", and then press ENTER.

3. On the "Start" menu, click "Run".

4. In the "Open" box, type "msiexec /regserver", and then press ENTER.

Taken from here

Finally i must add that my hardware is old socket A and these are the fixes i ran through to sort it which it Did. Its Not Gospel.

P.S. Use Driver Cleaner before above to make sure you have properly cleaned out NVidia drivers and re install ATI drivers.

Hope this helps.

Just remembered its Method 1 Resolution that fixxed it and updating to framework V2.0 so try that first.

Likely Mr Bauer. 430W *should* be good enough but sometimes the rails drop under heavy load so much that the voltage regulators can't compensate and the vcore fluctuates, causing instability.

I think its more likely that its freaking out because you don't have your graphics drivers installed properly.
I may be wrong but i like to help. :)

Think giving my processor more voltage will just make it worse?

I don't know - doubt it tbh, but it's what you feel comfortable with. How do you know it's your opti that has become unstable?

Drop the opty overclock and bench, if it its stable, raise the clock and bench again. Keep doing this until it gets unstable and crashes, then back it off a bit. If it was stable before and the graphics work fine, then its the psu I'd have thought, everything seem to point to that.

I argee, going to take my x1800xt out for a bit and put an old PCI card in, then prime. See what happens. 9500 in 3Dmark 05 btw :D will get that upto 10500.

Nice isnt it :)

Got mine last week and loving it, hope you get your OC sorted.

Mine pushes out 9504 3d 2k5 on a A64 (s754) 3400+ with 1gig on an NV8

Regards,

Dave.

Yer its a nice card. Did a 06 and got 4100.
Pulled the card and ran prime. Lasted a little longer but still not stable. Think I will just put some more volts though my opteron to get it back to 2.8. Will do that tonight and prime overnight.

Had enough messing around, time to enjoy my card. Going to play some games. Got pacific fighters with it, this any good?
