cant install Kaspersky Internet Security - help!

hi guys

i got the free licence for Kaspersky Internet Security from barclays bank as i'm member with them.

so first thing i did was uninstalled AVG 8 free edition. rebooted.

install Kaspersky and it says AVG is still in my system then abort the installation.

but there is no AVG in add/remove, there is no AVG folder in program folder!

so must be somewhere in the registry but i dont know where

Assuming its mostly un-installed make sure there is not still an avg folder in program files,

then look in HKLM\Software and rename the AVG key (I like to keep people away from the delete key!)

then try again..

If that does not work try reinstalling avg free and re-removing it maybe it will work correctly the 2nd time!
 
Download and install regcleaner

http://regcleaner.en.softonic.com/

then open it up and look at the "software" tab at the top left. In that look for all mentions of AVG and grisoft and remove them.

Reboot and kaspersky should now install. Its caused by avg leaving stuff in the registry when uninstalled making kaspersky think its still there.
