Can't install latest driver

Tried installing the new driver, it keeps failing

'Nvidia installer failed'

I tried uninstalling via display driver uninstaller, I tried redownloading it and everything I can think of.

Any help would be great.

Another odd thing - it's saying i'm using a microsoft display adaptor and I can't change my screen to 1080p. Currently stuck on 1024 x 768

Can you install an older driver? If so do that then try update to the latest via GeForce experience

Yup, still getting the failed driver (updating from geforce experience forces me to restart pc) and then the issue starts again, now cant get it to revert
