cant install new driver.

i tried updating my graphics card to the latest drivers (amd) but its stuck " detecting graphics hardware " and wont move no matter how long i wait. i have to ctrl alt delete and force close it . i have tried restarting and have tried other versions of the drivers but im still stuck. anyone had this happen to them and know of a fix. other than a windows reinstall preferably.

Go to Guru3D and drivers and download DDU display driver uninstaller. Boot into safe mode and run it, select recommended setting and it will auto restart system. Now try installing new driver.

But what if after I have uninstalled my old drivers it won't install the new one?

in the end i had to use device manager to install the display driver once it was extracted. however this means i couldn't update ccc but oh well. at least my driver is installed finally.

This happened with me, the problem I had was that I had "air display" installed. Basically a Thursday party programme that connected my iPad to be used as an additional monitor..

Once removed, everything was normal again.
