Currently have 332.21 drivers installed and when I tried the new 335.23. They installed fine with the normal process of the green bar ETC and asked my the restart as normal. Now I get 800x600 basic screen and in the device manager I get an code 37 on my Gerforce 680. (cannot initialise this hardware).
I go to manually install the drivers through the device manager and it says that the drivers are up to date and you have the newest available.

I have installed them over the top and a clean install with the same problem. I have also tried the 334.89 with the same problem. The strange thing is that when I install the drivers I had previously 332.21's it's fine.

I have downloaded them from Nvidia and Guru3D with the same result. As far as I can see the drivers are identical the the one's I have already installed which are for Win8, Vista, Win7 64bit.

Any ideas as it's confused the hell out of me??

I have exactly the same problem tried numerous times both from GE Force experience and the Nvidia Driver website, must be a bug tried installing the previous version too and cant install that either, keeps coming up with some random error message so now running on version 331.65 which doesn't support Shadowplay and is much older than the update I had before. I did experience a similar problem about two updates back.

My advice is to use DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) to completely remove the old drivers and then install the latest WHQL/Beta again. I had an issue as well with BSOD on the previous beta but after using DDU, I have been trouble free. I wonder is something isn't getting left in the registry that is conflicting?

Thx for the replies. May try to completely remove them via a third party program and see what happens.

Do you know the locations of the possible left over files or registry keys?

Let us know how you get on as I don't want to risk doing that myself. Driver still works fine just an older version. As the Website which is the only way I've found to install previous Drivers didn't work if I uninstall and then find that there is a problem with the latest release I'm relying on Geforce experience which only shows the latest Driver.

Of late l have had to dl the drivers from the Nvidia website and install over the Nvidia experience and drivers as for some reason the auto update has not worked for me on a couple of occasions, as stated already in the post by others l have also found DDU to be of great help.
