cant install vista: problem

keep trying and get this coming up every time

Close Windows installation and contact the device manufacturer for updated driver software for these devices:
IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers: Standard IDE/ESDI Hard Disk Controller

tried doing what it said but nothing works, any ideas?

change the sata mode to what?

in the bios the onboard sata/ide device and control mode are set to enabled and IDE already

and sata raid/ahci mode is disabled

any other ideas?

via windows vista setup? yes i can but is there any other way as i have tonees of stuff and will take days to back it all up

might go out and pick up a hard drive sod backing up all the guff i have (can never have enough anyway)

yep just one partition

ill try that but i seem to remember that they are all disabled but ill check and get back to you

just the two sata options are disabled and then it goes onto usb settings, both are disbabled and still no luck
