I am on XP SP 2 now,and I want to install Vista.I select boot from cd on the BIOS and when the "Press a key to boot from cd" appears,I am pressing keys but nothing is happening and it normally loads XP!I tried to see if this this is happening with my XP CD too,and yes it is happening. My rig is new and I havent formatted it so far,but I didnt had any problems installing XP with my old machine.Anyone knows whats happening?

Do you have a USB to PS2 connector? Most USB keyboards should come with them. If so I would try that. It’s still strange that you can get into the BIOS though.

You might not have usb legacy support enabled in your bios, if you can get your hands on a ps2 keyboard and change it. I had this bother before.
