Looking for some advice .... My son bought and built a new pc(so no windows installed) and I bought a windows 11 pro disc from eBay (oem) and it tells us the product key is already used. Tried everything and then it said windows 10 was installed and needed activating but winver told us it was the windows 11 pro on it.
The seller then sent us a new code but that is saying the same thing it's already used on another device.
Will we have to purchase windows 11 pro from over lockers or is there a way round this as I can't see that 2 product keys are faulty.
I hope that makes sense as I know nothing about computers so any advice welcome

Unfortunately it's a case of "too good to be true" with cheap keys - a genuine key is currently £120.

The only places to guarantee a genuine key are Microsoft themselves or proper computer stores such as Overclockers.

Before ordering a new genuine license, there is normally an activation helpline you can try
Choose "activate by telephone" pick your country and call the phone number, they will ask to send your phone a link to their activation tool. Enter the long installation ID, when they ask how many computers you installed with the software enter "1" and they will issue you a confirmation series that will activate Win 11.

My basket at OcUK:

Total: £111.98 (includes delivery: £3.99)

IMO Microsoft only want as many people using Windows as possible. Plenty of really easy ways of doing that, search for a recentish Linus Tech Tips video on Windows.
